Bound in contemporary stiff vellum, probably of Dutch or Flemish origin, per vendor's description. Inscribed in pencil "Rev. F. O'Reilly, London, Aug. 11, 1902" on front paste-down; ownership inscription in ink of the (now former) Monastery of the Visitation SIsters of Saint Louis, Mo., Aug. 190[2?] in front fluy-leaf. An advertisement from a previous bookseller, printed on newsprint, is pasted onto the recto of the leaf preceding the beginning of the text. Pressed leaves inserted three leaves from the end of the book. |
