Armorial bookplates of Miss Rose of Kilravock on front paste-downs, and inscribed by Eliza Rose, 1768 and 1783 on title pages (with sparkles). Apparently the name "Miss Rose of Kilravock" was used by various women of the Rose clan living at the Kilravock estate in Scotland over the centuries. However, one Elizabeth Rose ("Mrs. Rose of Kilravok," 1747-1815) was a Scottish literary critic and author. |
