Clarissa Kimber gives a copy of the first English translation of De Re Metallica by Georgius Agricola (Basel, 1556). The English edition was translated by Herbert C. Hoover and Lou Henry Hoover, who gave this copy to their friend Mrs. Clara Evans Kimber shortly after the book was published in 1912. The volume was given by Mrs. Kimber to her granddaughter, Professor Clarissa Kimber, upon her death. Professor Kimber now gives this book to the Special Collections of the Texas A&M University in memory of the collaboration of the personnel of the Geology Department under the direction of Dr. Robert Berg and the geography group under the leadership of Dr. Edwin Doran.
