The English schoole-master: : teaching all his schollers, of what age soever, the most easie, short and perfect order of distinct reading, and true wrting our English-tongue, that hath ever yet beene knowne or published by any. And further also, teacheth a direct course, how any vnskilfull person may easily both vnderstand any hard Englishwords, which they shall in the scriptures, sermons, or elsewhere heare or reade: and also bee made able to vse the same aptly themselues; and generally, whatsoeuer is necessary to bee knowne for English speech: so that he which hath this booke onely, needeth to buy no other to make him fit, from his letters vnto the grammar-schoole, for an apprentise, or any other his priuate use, so farre as concerneth English. And therefore is made not onely for children (though the first booke be meere childish for them) but also for all other, especially that are ignorant in the Latine-tongue.
