The act for relief of the innkeepers, &c. Having been variously understood in different parts of England, it is thought expedient, for the sake of removing all doubts respecting it, either on the part of the magistrates, the troops, or the publicans, to bring under one view the explanations, and directions, that have been given thereupon by this office.
