Letter from the Secretary of the Treasury, transmitting, in response to the Resolution of the Senate of April 19, 1904, copies of the reports and all papers relating to the claim of Charles Smith, late Deputy Collector of Customs, Circle City, Alaska, for compensation for services from October 1, 1898, to March 31, 1899, and for traveling expenses during that period, and stating that the department believes that there is not sufficient evidence on file for service rendered to Warrant recommendation of an appropriation for payment of the claim.
