Letter from the Secretary of the Treasury, transmitting (in obedience to a resolution of the Senate of the 3d of April, 1820.) a statement of the money expended in each year, since the Declaration of Independence, in holding conferences, and making treaties with the Indian tribes; specifying grants, and presents, whether in money or goods; annuities paid, and now payable, to the Indian tribes; the money annually appropriated and paid for the Indian trade, including the sums allowed for salaries, and allowances to superintendents, clerks, factors, commissioners, agents, interpreters, and all other persons, employed under the authority of the United States, in the negotiations and intercourse with the Indian tribes.
