A luxury ocean liner on a world cruise hits a derelict mine, expoldes and sinks before an S.O.S. can be sent out. Twenty-seven survivors of the wreck gling hope abord a life-boat, designed to hold less than half their number. The officer in charge must decide who will be sacrificed.
