Reproduction of and commentary to Mingozzi's documentary filmed in 1961-1962 in the Salento peninsula in Southern Italy on tarantism, in which victims (usually women), supposedly bitten by tarantulas, dance ecstatically to increasingly frenetic music to rid themselves of the "poison."
