Armorial bookplate of Henry Parsons, pasted on top of another bookplate, with a portrait, of James Phinney Baxter of Portland, Maine, on front paste-down. Baxter was a businessman and politician in Portland. Parsons may be the Henry Parsons of Kennebunk, Maine. "Meserole" (that is, Harrison T. Meserole, former professor of English at TAMU) is written in pencil on the Parsons bookplate and on front fly-leaf Half red morocco binding; marbled covers and end-papers; gilt edges. |
