| Summary: | The behavior of three children with disabilities was rofilm Inc. observed and compared to the behavior of their non-disabled peers. All participants were enrolled the same regular education kindergarten class. One participant was autistic and mentally retarded, one was mentally retarded, and one was other health impaired. The participants were observed over sixteen-week period in both recess using the interval method of systematic observation. Eleven categories of behavior were coded and comparisons were made between settings for b0th groups of participants. The percentage of time spent engaged in each behavior was compared between groups settings. A chi-square significance test was used participants and across determine participants with and without disabilities in each setting. The behavior patterns for the participants with and without disabilities were bound to be parallel both settings. Predominant behaviors of the participants disabilities were not significantly different than the predominant behaviors of participants without disabilities in either setting. In addition, the behaviors exhibited by b0th groups of participants were appropriate for the given settings. |
