The German youth Otto Relstaub was on his way from Kentucky to Louisiana when he was captured by a band of wandering Sauk Indians. This adventure story, set in frontier American in the 1800's, recounts the efforts of his friends Jack Carleton and Deerfoot, a Shawnoe youth, to rescue him.
