Description
Summary:"Zachary McLeod Hutchins renders Smith's story as a poem in two parts. The first introduces a very human Joseph and the origins of his religious seeking as a teen before turning to a demonic council intent on stopping the future prophet's heavenly revelation. From there the story moves to the First Vision and the angel Moroni's charge to retrieve and translate the gold plates. The second part picks up the narrative four years later, as Joseph marries, undertakes the plates' translation, and details an alternate version of ancient history. Joseph then proceeds to attempt to publish the book while organizing his growing band of followers, with the work ending on a note of contentment at odds with the tumultuous times to come. An original chronicle of Joseph Smith's humanity and work, Joseph: An Epic reinterprets the early years of a seeker and the faith he created"-- Provided by publisher.
