Abstract:	The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) of the United States has carried out a number of scientific trawl survey programs in U.S. waters since the 1970's to monitor the abundance of groundfish stocks. This paper presents detailed and summary results of these surveys in the form of swept-area estimates of halibut abundance.
