Head-piece (coat of arms) at head of dedication. Includes indexes in both volumes; printed in double-columns. Errata: page [343], volume 1. Dr. Maty died after completing the first five sections of the Memoirs, with the exception of a few passages and some notes. He left a rough draft of part of the last section and headings for the remainder. J.O. Justamond, his son-in-law, completed the editing. Cf. Dictionary of national biography and Advertisement, page vii, volume 1. An additional volume, compiled by Benjamin Way, was published in 1778.
