| Summary: | The dataset presented is drawn from creative and visual data collected as part of two independent research projects in a case university constituent college. This applied research methodology required participants to critically consider and express, through creative methods, how they would best respond to a problem or scenario that is personal to them. The data set presented includes images of research participants' creative representations of drawings and LEGO® building block constructions, where they explored their childhood aspirations, imagined futures and barriers, and challenges they consider they may encounter, and how they might overcome them on their journey to achieve their goals. The imagery was accompanied by field notes, where the researchers recorded participants' narrations and analysis of what their creative works represented to them. The dataset was analyzed using a thematic data analysis method (Braun and Clarke, 2006).The datasets are part of two independent research projects undertaken by Dr Breda McTaggart, Sandra Hallinan, and Paula Ryder, from Atlantic Technological University, Ireland. The dataset comprises three participant drawings and their associated LEGO® block building constructions and relevant participant commentary from the field notes of the presented exemplar. The data exemplar is accompanied by a teaching guide and a student guide. |
