Goddard's 1777 Baltimore printing of the third version of the Declaration of Independence, the first to be printed under the title 'The Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen United States of America', the first to include a list of the names of the signers, and the first to be printed by a woman. (See text by David Armitage on accompanying sheet). Signed [printed in blue ink] by President John Hancock and Charles Thomson, as the secretary of the Continental Congress. Accompanying "essays page" includes text by David Armitage, Mindy Belloff and Martha K. King, bibliographical references and acknowledgments. "For the contemporary printing of the Declaration of Independence, this beautiful bright white 100% cotton custom paper was handmade by David Carruthers at Saint-Armand Papetiers in Québec. The accurate casting of Caslon was expertly done by Ed Rayher of Swamp Press, Massachusetts"--Acknowledgments. Edition limited to 118 copies, numbered and signed by Belloff on the verso of the facsimile.
