The insignia are arranged to visually depict the approximate relative locations of these units on that day (using Bravo time zone). The 97th (along with 97 RCN, 303 INF, 322 ENGR, 303 FA, 387 INF, 322 MED, 386 INF, 389 FA, 365 FA, 922 FA), at Konstantinovy Lázně, in western Czechoslovakia was sandwiched between the U.S. Army 1st Division, in position near the town of Loke, Czechoslovakia and the U.S. Army 2nd Division, advancing on the city of Pilsen, Czechoslovakia.
