Despite the notable cultural and linguistic disparities between Algerian Arabic and English, my translations endeavour to bridge these divides by emphasising shared human experiences and values, thereby fostering a sense of unity while capturing the essence of Algerian theatrical expressions for an English-speaking audience. Drawing on Michel Garneau's technique of tradaptation (1978), the translations attempt to explore new horizons without compromising the spirit of the original texts. |
