| Item Description: | Dr. Gary Vroegindewey (DVM, Missouri) donated this collection of his personal effects from his service in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps. Dr. Vroegindewey has a strong interest in the history of veterinary medicine and was recommended as an authority on veterinary corps memorabilia to appraise the John N. Case, Jr. Veterinary Corps Collection. The Medical Sciences Library purchased the Case Collection in 2013. Collection contains over 214 items of various artifact types: books, cards, CD-ROMs, certificates, clothing, commemoratives, documents, equipment, flags, identification, insignia, photographs, souvenirs, and uniforms. Items were organized, listed, and barcoded in a library school graduate practicum but were not cataloged. The collection is stored in 9 boxes and one canvas flag bag with the Historical Veterinary Research Collection. The boxes are barcoded. The list is located on Teams in a folder named Veterinary Corps Sub-collections in the Case Veterinary Corps Collection folder in the Historical Veterinary Research Collection folder under the Named Collections folder. |
