| Item Description: | Dr. Tom Murnane (TAMU ’81) donated this collection shortly after his father’s (Brigadier General Murnane) death in 2017. Brigadier General Murnane was one of four TAMU CVM graduates who rose through the ranks to lead the United States Army Veterinary Corps: BG Charles Elia (TAMU DVM ‘43) from 1972-1976, Thomas Murnane (TAMU DVM ’47) from 1976-1980, Frank Ramsey (TAMU DVM ’54) from 1980-1985, and Michael Cates (TAMU DVM ‘80) from 2005-2008.
Collection contains over 80 items of various artifact types: books, CD-ROMs, certificates, commemoratives, documents, equipment, photographs, plaques, slides, souvenirs, and uniforms. Items were organized, listed, and barcoded in a library school graduate practicum but were not cataloged. The collection is stored in 9 boxes and one canvas flag bag with the Historical Veterinary Research Collection. The boxes are barcoded.
