| Item Description: | Translation of Réflexions sur la miséricorde de Dieu, en forme de prières, first published anonymously in 1680. Manuscript in a legible hand, written on both rectos and versos, execpt leaves 42 (recto only) and 43 (blank). Copied from Lewis Atterbury's translation, first published in London in 1684, of the Duchess of La Vallière's treatise on repentance and mercy. The copyist did not include the table of contents appearing in the printed versions, but the preface and the advertisement match those of the first (1684) and second (1685) editions of Atterbury's translation. |
