| Item Description: | Title from modern box. 1 photoprint: two female Japanese boxers and a female referee on a stage, positioned in front of a backdrop of painted faces suggesting a crowd of people ringside; possiblly a theater performance [1910s?]. 1 photoprint: a completely nude woman posing as if practicing her left hook on a suspended leather punching ball [1920s?]. 8 photoprints: in a series of blurry photos two women in underwear and boxing gloves come to blows in a field, both are flailing and grimacing. 12 photoprints: as the of series of "girlie boxers" begins, 3 women are fully clothed (shorts, shirts and high-heeled shoes) and they proceed to box each other's clothes off; finally there are no clothes to be seen; in a couple instances the she-fight degenerates into spankings and staged silliness and laughter. The women are named Nancy, Joan, and Shirley (or so they have been identified by a clipping affixed to verso of the last shot) [1940s?]. 3 postcards, captions: Internationale Damen-Boxkämpfe -- Intern.
