| Summary: | "Only edition of the prose and verse gleanings of a literary society of aristocrats fighting in the expatriate Army of Condé, which, outside of France, sought to restore Bourbon rule. The volume is dedicated to the exiled Louis XVIII. Its sity-four piees include romances, fables, dialogs, moral tales, battlefield verses, biblical translations, occasional pieces on an overcoat and a raven who steals camp food, an ode on the death of Catherine the Great, and a dialogue between Condorcet and Cardinal Richelieu. The place of production is uncertain, but very likely only a few copies were printed. |
