| Summary: | Concert recorded at the MC 93 (cultrure center) in Bobigny during the Banlieues Bleues festival in April 2013. Oud master, singer, and poet Marcel Khalifé, a highly respected Lebanese musician, invited his two musician sons to the Banlieues Bleues festival in Bobigny in 2013: a family story for an ode to the freedom of creation and a highly sensitive transmusical dialogue. "If we hadn't been born in the same house, I bet we would still have met in life." Yes! Just as Marcel Khalifé's excellence allows him to reinvent the possibilities of his instrument outside the sometimes narrow codes of traditional music, Rami on keyboards and Bachar-Mar on percussion seem to be inhabited by the same outlook, except that they soar in jazz and electronic music instead. The spectacular trio joins forces here to break all boundaries, musical or mental, for this very high-flying live performance. Jeanne Lacaille.
