Summary:Ben travels to the Ozark Plateau in Missouri to live with wilderness expert, Bo Brown, who gave up life on the road with his band to teach Stone Age skills to modern day man. Ben discovers how his host bridges a primitive life with the need to survive in the present. He becomes 'the student to Bo's teacher' and learns how to make a spear, eat wilderness foods with a difference, including squirrels and insects and heads out into the wild forest overnight, to build a shelter, forage and fish.
