| Summary: | Warrior Up! is a documentary series that follows Indigenous youth across Turtle Island who are standing up and making change, transforming their communities, their lands and their lives for the better. Episode 11: In his early 20s, Rylee Nepinak co-founded Anishiative, a grassroots community organization in Winnipeg that connects Indigenous youth to land-based education and inner-city outreach projects. Rylee already had his hands full managing that project and helping set up emergency warming stations for unhoused people. But when Rylee then heard about the youth suicide crisis in the northern Manitoba Cree community of Tastasweyak, he was moved to action. An inexperienced cyclist, he biked across Canada solo in 40 days to raise awareness and funds for the community. And his connection to that community didn't end there. Host Joshua Odjick meets up with Rylee in Tataskweyak, where he's now a regular visitor just as Rylee is introducing a multi-day Warrior ceremony to help the community heal.
