Description
Summary:In this issue of Videofashion, we look at the collections that launched fashion beyond next season and well into the future. At Balenciaga it was a case of textiles meeting technology as Nicolas Ghesquiere sent out robotic looks that exemplified the season's fascination with futurism. We then take a personAL tour of the Musee des Art Decoratif exhibition with Ghesquiere. The talk of London, Gareth Pugh whips black and white vinyl into his extreme vision of the future. Meanwhile, designer Francisco Costa takes the normally super clean Calvin Klein on a futuristic sportif adventure and, at Fendi, Karl Lagerfeld blends high-tech with high-style to create a collection that embodied Spring's futuristic feeling. Yeohlee, probably the most cerebral of American designers, staged her summer show in an all-white raw space, highlighting her architecturally referenced collection. Plus, more modernist than minimalist, Narciso Rodriguez evolves his take on what is strict - juxtaposed with his vision of relaxed.
