Description
Summary:This film explores notions of personal liberation, compromise, and what it means to be 'free' in modern society. "The Forest" is a DIY arts collective that occupies a large building in central Edinburgh. By following various members as they manage the day to day life of the collective in the run-up to its Tenth Birthday celebrations, we observe some of the internal and external struggles that they face in coming to terms with the reality of running what is, in essence, a business. Everything is on a knife-edge: will the birthday celebrations actually happen, will the 'spaceman' decorating the ceiling of the hallway with stars complete the universe in time, and most importantly, will the collective achieve the perfect formula for happiness, S+P2?
