Summary:Lenses been light in specific ways, allowing us to see objects that may otherwise be beyond our senses. With special instruments, lenses enable us to peer into tiny worlds to study nature or to explore worlds far beyond Earth. There are two types of lenses, concave and convex. A convex lens, such as ones used in a magnifying glass produces an image larger than the object. A convex lens can form virtual and real images. A virtual image is produced when the object is closer to the lens than the focal point. The image is magnified. It is larger than the actual object. The image is upright and not reversed. A virtual image can be seen but not shown on a screen.
