During the 1960s he gained popularity with his roles in films such as The Servant, Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines, King Rat, The Chase, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Isadora, and Performance alongside Mick Jagger. After an absence of almost ten years from mainstream cinema, Fox gradually returned to the screen, appearing in A Passage to India and The Remains of the Day. More recently he has starred in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sherlock Holmes.
