| Summary: | ORCHESTRAL MANOEUVRES IN THE NORTH is a short documentary about a unique visit of the Munich Chamber Orchestra (MKO) to Pyongyang, North Korea. In addition to joint orchestra rehearsals at the Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun Conservatory, the MKO conducted one-to-one chamber music classes with North Korean students. After 3 days of rehearsals the German-Korean ensemble performed in a closing concert at the conservatory. The Goethe Institut Korea arranged this cross-cultural encounter to one of the most internationally isolated places in the world. Nils Clauss was kindly invited to join and document this special event in form of a short documentary. |
