Description
Summary:Jack Seers aged 12 from Christchurch has a new take on one of the oldest toys in the world, the spinning top, a timeless toy that never seems to have lost its appeal with children. Jack's R/C Top is a powered top with remote control centre weight that allows the top to be piloted in any direction. In one of the maddest episodes of Let's Get Inventin' yet, Jack builds a large scale R/C Top using a Harley Davidson from dealership Auckland Motor Sports, The wheel spins forever providing gyro stability powered by an electric drill motor and on-board batteries. In a world first this top can be controlled to move in any direction. Jack's Goober Challenge is to battle a team of radio-controlled helicopters and vehicles in an awesome RC fight to the death! Jack may have a whole new sport on his hands here. Model builders, Gyro Constructivists come on board to build the RC Top using everyday items from Mitre 10 and RC gear donated from Browns Bay High Performance Models.
