At Hallbankgate Village Primary School in Cumbria, Claire Reed has been engaged in practitioner research for her Masters level module at Cumbria University. In her research, she uses video to record pupil voice as they discuss their roles on the school council. Taking responsibility for their own learning and reflecting as a peer group, the pupils are keen to work more effectively. They talk with Claire about introducing Mantle of the Expert - a role play drama convention to help them understand what they should be doing. Dr Pete Boyd, the course tutor, Deborah Seward, former headteacher of Hallbankgate, and fellow Masters student Danielle Wilkinson join Claire to assess the research so far and discuss the validity of video for Masters level assignments. |
