Mana, the Power of Things examines the range of beliefs across the world. The term "belief" is usually associated with religion, but for us its meaning goes far beyond that: belief drives the financial markets and the art market, it determines how we preserve the past, the trace in objects, artifacts and memories. Belief is common to all traditions and behaviors even if they appear very distant from each other. Almost from birth each of us actively (and often unconsciously) weaves the web of beliefs that determine how we perceive the whole and define the world. |
