Description
Summary:In 1999, an extraordinany exhibition of sculptures based on the battle of 'Little Big Horn' was displayed on the Pont des Arts, in Paris, and attracted three million people. They came to admire a collection of extraordinary figures: Indians and American soldiers led by General Custer all fighting for their lives, between the Louvre and the Academie Francaise. Filmed over a year, OUSMANE SOW follows the sculptor working on this memorable creation in his Dakar home. It reveals the patience of the artist and his skills as he layers jute and pulp and moulds individual pieces into dynamic figures.
