Summary:The theories and musical works of avant-garde artist John Cage are celebrated by Dutch director Frank Scheffer and collaborator Andrew Culver in this collection of four films. In 19 Questions, the musician fields questions that offer insight into Cage's creative process. Fourteen offers a performance of the Cage composition of the same name as interpreted by the Ives Ensemble, and Paying Attention takes separate audio and video portions of an interview with the artist's and rearranges them to create something entirely new. Lastly, Overpopulation and Art with Ryonji combines a spoken word performance by Cage with one of his musical compositions to striking effect.
