Summary:	This is where the story begins, at Nir Galim Moshav, at the gateway to the Negev. These men and women, most of whom haven't seen each other for 50 years, share the same past. They were all hidden children, hidden in Belgium, by parents who wanted to save them from the Nazi barbarities. Today, the only traces of them are to be found in the registers of resident aliens. Once they came out of hiding after the war had ended, their names were entered in these books. These children, whether Polish, Hungarian, Czech, German, or simply stateless, lived under false names, were baptized, or lost their identities in order to survive.
