| Summary: | This programme looks at projects and schools at different stages in the design of science labs for the 21st century. Project Faraday has teamed schools with architects and designers to look at how science teaching spaces can be used differently. Estover Community College in Plymouth is about to undergo major redevelopment and is looking to incorporate some of these ideas into its new build. At Hartcliffe College in Bristol, major building work has just begun on a new campus. Head of Science Simon Thompson has been heavily involved in finalising designs for the new labs. He has included pupils in the consultation process and shows off a few of the planned features of the school's new facilities. Brunel Academy in Bristol is one of the national Building Schools for the Future projects. We see how the school's state-of-the-art science labs enhance teaching and learning. |
