Summary:	Pontllanfraith Primary School is a pilot school for the new Foundation Phase. This programme looks at how they are encouraging physical development in their nursery reception classes. A key aspect of the Foundation Phase is using the outside environment as an outdoor classroom to be used on a daily basis and in all weathers. Teachers Sam King and Kay Davies use outside activities to encourage gross and fine motor skills. Jane Davidson, Welsh Minister for Education, wants Welsh children to be able to learn in every single environment including outdoors.
