| Summary: | The more flexible geography curriculum will include subjects like climate change that are dynamic and relevant. The Geographical Association's Programme Director John Lyon teaches a class of KS3 pupils from Silverdale School in Sheffield on how climate change could affect their lives. With a futuristic Dr Who slant, the classroom becomes a Tardis which has shuffled up diary entries along the time-line of 1970-2070 which each group of students have to sort into the appropriate time period. A mixture of gloomy and attractive future scenarios are then sorted into preferred and possible situations focusing on possible implications. The students then create a pod-cast aimed at their grandchildren, making a set of futuristic promises. |
