Description
Summary:This programme looks at how a cluster of schools in Bradford has addressed community cohesion through links with schools in Peshawar, Pakistan. During the three-year project, teacher exchanges have produced developments in teaching, learning and the curriculum. The challenge of providing extended services has also been addressed by collaboration across the cluster and with other diverse school communities in the UK. The programme portrays joint projects undertaken in the cluster of predominantly Muslim Bradford secondary and primary schools, and in a large mixed multi-cultural comprehensive school in the city. These projects focus on themes such as the outdoor classroom and cultural heritage. They incorporate an international dimension through email, Skype, text messaging and pupil exchanges between Bradford and Peshawar. We also see how the UK schools are developing video conferencing to allow pupils to share lessons and eventually work directly with the schools in Peshawar.
