Description
Summary:Few European cities have a musical tradition as alive as this one. Like Carmen, Lesley is stirring Spanish hearts in Seville. Here the very air resonates with warm Latin rhythms and the clack of castanets, while all opera lovers know that its dark side streets are throbbing with passion and violence. Lesley discovers the mysteries of the flamenco as she learns this most seductive of dances, and finds Moorish music in the bars and in the city, where Rossini's set his popular opera, The Barber Of Seville. Flamenco master and heart-throb Joaquin Cortes shows off his sensual style, and there is music from Verdi's Il Trovatore, Sorozabal's La Taberna Del Puerto and, of course, Bizet's Carmen. The exciting Russian violinist Maxim Vengerov is also among the guest stars.
