| Summary: | When a business offered to devise a programme of formal mock interviews at a school in Berkshire, teachers seized the opportunity to equip their pupils with essential communication skills. We've followed the year eleven pupils from Slough Grammar School as they take part in a programme of careers learning and practical interview coaching implemented by volunteers from the BT Education Unit. The programme shows how the thirty pupils underwent practical tuition before completing a specially designed application form and finally attending a very formal one-to-one interview. BT Volunteer Melvyn Pearce conducts these interviews and gave the pupil 'candidates' feedback on their performances. Was it a useful experience for the students? They seem to think so. |
