Summary:Kantata Takwa was originally the name of a collaborative group of performers, which included musician Iwan Fals, his band, poet W.S. Rendra and his theatre group. In 1991, Kantata Takwa performed in a huge concert, singing songs about the oppressiveness of Soeharto's new order regime. Live footage of this performance is intercut with artistes' interviews, and a loose narrative of a people who are ultimately killed by their oppressors. Due to its political content, Kantata Takwa was 18 years in the making, and only released in 2008.
