Description
Summary:The government requires that 10% of pupils at every primary and secondary school are identified as gifted or talented and placed on a register. This film investigates how staff at Sacred Heart Primary School in Hastings and the nearby Helenswood Performing Arts College go about identifying their gifted and talented pupils. It looks at the provision in place for these children and at the role governors have played in implementing and monitoring the G & T programme. Higher order thinking skills, open ended investigations, lunchtime and after-school clubs and, at Sacred Heart, a challenge corner in each classroom, are key to the success of the G & amp;T programmes. Governors at both schools play a crucial monitoring role.
