| Summary: | It has become apparent over the past few years that an increasingly destabilized Saudi Arabia is more willing to listen to Islamic fundamentalists and to bankroll the Al-Qaeda terrorist network in a holy war against the West. This troubling film includes an interview with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Abdullah ibn Abdul-aziz al-Saud who is effectively the country's ruler. He states that he is unaware of any Saudi funds going to terrorist groups. American attorneys working for the families of victims from September 11, 2001claim otherwise. One attorney, Allan Gerson, is suing Saudi charities, banks and members of the royal family for $2 trillion for allegedly financing the September 11 attacks. He claims to have evidence that money went from Saudi charities, via terrorist cells in Europe, to the Jema ah Islamiah group in Southeast Asia for the Bali bombing, and that they were the same people who funded the Twin Towers attack This film obtained rare access to the "closed kingdom," where we see a country full of frustrated young people - sixty percent under the age of 25 - who are increasingly alienated, both by some in the royal family and perceived American aggression against Muslim countries. |
