| Summary: | This program describes the following patient safety goals: •Improve the accuracy of patient and newborn identification •Improve the effectiveness of communication among caregivers •Improve the safety of using medications •Reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infections •Improve the safety of clinical alarm systems. The organization identifies safety risks inherent in its patient population. After viewing the program, the learner will be able to: •Identify the concerns and problems that led to development of the Joint Commission's NPSG. •Describe the patient safety goals for acute settings. •Identify and implement the key Elements of Performance developed to accomplish the patient safety goals.
