| Summary: | This volume collects the proceedings of the Study Day organized at the University of Roma Tre (8 November 2022) in which the first results of the "Monti Lucretili Landscape Project" were presented. Experts and young scholars who have dealt with this mountainous area of Lazio present their research in a diachronic perspective, analyzing the landscape from different points of view: historical, archaeological, topographical, geological and geographical. Through case studies that see the application of the different methodologies of each discipline, the volume aims to stimulate a debate on research methodologies but above all on the major historiographical themes that have touched this area of the surroundings of Rome, linked to the transformation of the landscape and the changes in settlement forms in different eras, with a particular focus on the medieval period. In addition, the book offers researchers dealing with mountain and rural archaeology a case study comparable with other Mediterranean contexts investigated in the perspective of the longue durée. |
