Description
Summary:With the help of his mother, his 82-year old uncle, and local cast of hilarious and lovable characters, filmmaker Mark Borchardt fights his way through internal and external roadblocks to make a movie in the town of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Lacking the resources to complete Northwestern, a feature film, Borchardt decides to complete Coven, a short, independent, "no-budget" horror film, in order to attract the attention and finances to make his dream film. Particular attention is given to his best friend, Mike Schank, an amiable recovering alcoholic and drug addict, who is also one of the most reliable members of his crew. Spanning over two years of intense struggle with his film, his family, financial decline, alcoholism, and spiritual crisis, AMERICAN MOVIE is a portrayal of ambition, obsession, excess, and one man's quest for the American Dream.
